- Positive body language is a key aspect of communication. Negative body language can prove to be a barrier and can give off a negative attitude towards the other person.
- Eliminating long distance barriers with different forms of communication such as telephone or email. This can provide fast, cheap communication between people without having the trouble of waiting for letters or packages of documents to be sent through 'snail mail'.
- Positive listening. This can be shown in the form of asking insightful questions about the other person's topic of discussion. Just nodding and occassionally looking away shows that you are not interested in the conversation but eye contact and a genuine interest being shown can prove a good communiation tool.
- Always talk to others. Even litle questions asking about the other person's day or how their work is going can lead to more longer and in depth conversations down the track. This helps to 'break the ice' as such and opens a door to help communicate with others, especially those you have to communicate with regularly.
- No slang. When meeting with new people, especially with people from another country, slang is not a good form of communication. Slang can be used between friends where all of them know the meaning and understanding of the words but when they don't know the communication can become sometimes negative or a constant conversation where you will have to explain the meaning of the words.
